North Carolina Mountain Elopement at the Greystone Inn on Lake Toxaway | a Fall mountain elopement perfect for two
First of all, the Greystone Inn on Lake Toxaway in western North Carolina is a dream elopement venue if you’re all about simplicity and being surrounded by the North Carolina mountains. Sitting right on Lake Toxaway, the historic inn exudes charm and hospitality. I highly recommend to any couples looking for an intimate setting for their North Carolina elopement.
It’s perfect for two people like Lauren and Rex who both love nature and wanted to focus on nothing but each other on their wedding day. They did invite family and friends to watch the ceremony live on Zoom, but other than that, it was as intimate and romantic as a day can be. They got ready slowly and at their own pace and roamed the beautiful property for photos before the ceremony began. The ceremony itself was lakeside next to a fire pit that was ready and lit before the ceremony began. The rolling smoke from the fire added an ambiance to the atmosphere that causes you to relax and be present. I love that effect that campfire smoke has on any mood.
There was no rigid timeline and L + R were able to be themselves and go with the flow the entire day. My favorite moment of the entire day was wandering down to the boat dock for an unplanned first dance at sunset. I played their favorite song on my iPhone & Spotify, and they danced and danced and I just couldn’t have been happier to be there documenting this beautiful & organic moment. It was more than an honor <3
