This was a special day for us. Aside from the fact that in-home maternity sessions, or any in-home documentary-style photo session for that matter, are my FAVORITE! These particular photos are of my brother and sister-in-law just 3 weeks before just met their first child, their son Luca (our nephew!). We were all SO excited, but they were totally OVER THE MOON. To say the least, it was incredible to be able to document this special season in their lives for them (and future generations) to look back on forever.
It was a Sunday afternoon after a delicious brunch. We (and their two dogs) hung out in Luca’s nursery inside their light-filled Seattle apartment for most of the afternoon. Then we made our way over to Discovery Park, a relatively vast & beautiful open space right on the Puget Sound. It was a warm and sunny day, so a walk in the park was the perfect way to spend late Sunday afternoon together. Discovery Park is one of their favorite spots.
I can imagine Luca looking at these photos of his parents several years from now, and being able to see how happy & excited his parents were just 3 weeks before his birth and the moment their lives changed forever. He’ll see how much they loved him before they even met him <3 What a gift.
