‘Tis the season for intimate maternity photos in Rochester NY
Inspiration for intimate maternity photos at home
There’s no better place to be than being cozy at home in during Winter. My favorite place for intimate maternity photos is your home because it automatically creates an extra personal and romantic vibe to your session. You feel inherently more at ease in your own home.
You might feel nervous about the idea because you think your home has to be picture perfect. But it doesn’t, I promise you! If you have one nook in your home with nice window light, that’s enough to create lots of magic.
Ideas for a beautiful in-home maternity photo session:
- Hang out in the nursery room, dream of holding your baby
- Read your favorite baby books, knowing they can hear you
- Eat some snacks that have become irresistible/iconic during pregnancy
- Hang out with the pets/furbabies
- Just relax and be together <3

Bloom Studio in Rochester NY
Bloom Studio is located right in the city of Rochester NY and is my favorite local studio for maternity photos. It feels like home because it literally could be! It’s complete with a small kitchen, brick walls, loft ceilings with large windows and incredible natural light. The owner has it decorated beautifully to make it feel cozy and like home, including all the overgrown house plants. It’s spacious enough to put up a custom backdrop, or get creative in the various nooks of the space. 10/10 recommend!

Gallery 48 in Churchville
Gallery 48 in Churchville is a smaller, more intimate space with a bed and a couch and great natural light. I love to use Gallery 48 for lifestyle newborn sessions, or a maternity session that calls for wearing pajamas!

Studio Eleven in Batavia
Studio Eleven is in a large industrial warehouse turned multi-use space. You use an old creaky elevator to get to the second floor and as you walk into Studio Eleven, you’re greeted with huge bright windows and white walls. They often have a bedroom setup and a few chairs to use. There’s plenty of room to get creative. You can do pretty much anything in there! I’ve created a few bespoke floral arrangements for clients inside Studio Eleven, and have done branding sessions in there too!
