There’s something so special about a Mother and her new baby. The newness, the intimacy, the bond. To be honest, if I had to choose one thing to photograph for the rest of time, it would be new motherhood.

It was a cool October day when I arrived to this sweet family’s house in Webster NY for their in-home newborn lifestyle session. A lot of people ask “what is lifestyle photography?” and I can only describe it as “just a day in your life.” It doesn’t’ need to be fancy, posted, or curated. Documenting a newborn in your own home is the best place for this type of session because it’s where everyone is the most comfortable, and most natural versions of themselves.

As you can see from the photos, I was more of a fly-on-the-wall, documenting quietly as the family interacted with each other and their new baby daughter/sister, rarely looking at the camera.
