Newborn Photos in Rochester NY | Session Spotlight

Unlike traditional posed newborn photos in Rochester NY that take place in a studio, my newborn sessions take place in the comfort of your home where can feel more at ease. I use natural light to create a warm, organic feel, while taking a mainly documentary-approach to your session. My approach to photography is about more than just creating beautiful portraits—it’s about preserving the raw, fleeting beauty of new life through organic, heartfelt storytelling.

Experience What it’s Like Taking Newborn Photos in Rochester NY

We started in the baby’s nursery and it was clear that lots of love went into decorating that room and getting it ready for their sweet baby boy! I love when we can take photos in the baby’s nursery with all of their things. It adds another level of meaning to the photos, for one, but you’ll also be able to look back at the photos and remember what the room looked like at the beginning.

I prioritize candid photos when we’re in the nursery in order to document real life with your newborn. You’ll spend countless hours in this room rocking, feeding, changing, etc and I’m hoping to give you an instant sense of nostalgia when you see your newborn photos for the first time.

Newborn Photos Using Natural Light

As we were planning their newborn session, I asked them what their favorite room in their home was. This couple loves their bedroom, so we headed to that room next and spent the remainder of their session there.

There was beautiful natural light coming in from one window in particular so I used it to create beautiful newborn portraits. I always bring a selection of wraps in different colors and let you choose which ones we use. After we got baby wrapped snug-as-a-bug, I placed him in my basket on the floor in front of the window.

He was alert and curious the whole time, which made for some really cute photos!

Candid and Natural Approach

My approach to photography is about more than just creating beautiful portraits—it’s about preserving the raw, fleeting beauty of new life through organic, heartfelt storytelling.

Through a gentle and relaxed approach, I focus on creating a stress-free experience, allowing you to soak in these moments without the pressure of posing perfectly.

Ending the Session in a Cuddle Puddle

Towards the end of their session, baby needed to take a feeding break. After that, he fell asleep immediately! To end the session, I asked them to lay down on their rug with baby in between them. I photographed them cuddling and kissing him as he slept peacefully. I wrapped up their session by taking some additional portraits of him while he slept. These were some of my favorite photos from the entire session! <3
